Two years ago, Sue O'Neil's life changed forever when her beloved husband of 33 years, Tom O'Neil, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Little less than four months later, Tom died in Wellesley, MA home.

Weeks hat!

O'Neil and her husband's friends had their first fundraiser to combat pancreatic cancer in October 2007, organizing a golf tournament in honor of Tom who raised $ 25,000 for the Lustgarten Foundation.

Two weeks after the tournament, O'Neil found another way to fund research. O'Neil says, "You see, I love wearing hats. When I wore out with Tom, many people complimented me on my hat that became a joke between us. Almost a year after the day she lost my husband, I put my hat shine again. Three separate women stopped me to say "Luv Your Hat!" I smiled to myself and realized that this was! I sell hats and donate a portion of each sale of pancreatic cancer research. "

This is the best story I’ve read so far. It’s nice to know that people are so willing to help and share their blessings. It’s nice to hear about stories of unity and solidarity.
